Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
City & Guilds 2377-12
This scheme is designed to ensure that those responsible for the management of electrical equipment are familiar with the use of the IEE Code of Practice for in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment.
This course will enable delegates to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to be able to instigate and implement a testing programme for portable electrical testing appliances. The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 places a legal accountability on employers, employees and self-employed persons to comply with the provisions of the regulations and to take reasonable and practical steps to ensure that no danger results from the use of electrical equipment. This requires a regular program of maintenance, inspection and testing.
It is not essential to have any prior electrical knowledge. However, a basic understanding may be an advantage to candidates.
(The online examination for the PAT Test will be held on a separate date to be confirmed on arrival of the course which will be approximately within 7 days following the course).
